Hamilton-Wenham Youth Basketball was formed back in the 1980's by Dan Snavely and Bill Burridge, who served countless hours with other volunteers to make a great Youth Basketball program for Hamilton-Wenham. Dan retired from the Board in 2001 after serving almost 20 years to the community. HWYBI is grateful to Dan and Bill for all their hard work and today, the tradition lives on, with a volunteer Board of Directors and many parents and friends who volunteer year after year and work together to make a positive experience for your children to play basketball. The program includes both in-town recreation and travel team competition. Dan is still involved with the program as head of Referees. Bill has just retired as the Hamilton-Wenham Varsity Girls Basketball coach. We thank all the people who help coach, coordinate, referee, do the scorekeeping and other tasks that help make the program work. We also wish to thank the Recreation Center for their support of Youth Basketball and the Hamilton-Wenham School system and the Rec Department for letting us use their gyms. Our goal is to enrich your children through the sport of basketball with sound fundamentals, positive reinforcement and good sportsmanship. Note: Basketball is not a Hamilton/Wenham Joint Recreation Department program per se. However, much support and assistance is provided by that organization.
